“8-A�(U.S.; Orlando Jimenez-Leal; 4:15 & 9:15 p.m.). Grueling but provocative documentary on the 1989 trial of Cuban Gen. Arnaldo Ochoa: a hero of the revolution, accused, along with others, of drug trafficking. Jimenez-Leal, best known for his 1980 comedy “El Super� and another explosive anti-Castro documentary, “Improper Conduct� (made with Nestor Almendros), suggests that Ochoa and his colleagues were innocent of the drug charges, and were instead betrayed for remarks, made at a private party, that were highly critical of Fidel and Raul Castro.

Others: “Night Owl�(U.S.; Jeffrey Arsenault; 1:40, 4:05, 6:50 & 9:05 p.m.). Gritty, effective punk minimalist rendering of a vampire tale set in Manhattan’s East Village--ideal midnight movie fodder. James Rafferty is the vampire and John Leguizamo, a young man wandering through an evil wonderland on the trail of his missing sister.
