Officials Search for Clues in Fatal Stabbing
STANTON — Sheriff’s deputies were searching for clues Sunday in the stabbing death of an unidentified man.
Deputies found the victim near railroad tracks not far from the intersection of Date Street and Western Avenue after residents in the 7500 block of Katella Avenue reported hearing someone moaning behind an apartment complex about 2:30 a.m., authorities said.
Described as a male Latino about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds, the victim was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department said.
The victim could not be identified by his fingerprints, nor did he carry identification, authorities said.
Officials said they suspect robbery as a motive and have no suspects.
