Valley Alternative Wins Magnet Softball Title
Jennifer Huish struck out 14 and Lilibeth Cardano had three hits, leading Valley Alternative to a 9-5 victory over L.A. Center for Enriched Studies in the championship game of the Magnet League softball playoffs Friday at Hjelte Park in Encino.
Cardano, the leadoff batter, scored after all three of her bunt singles, helping Valley Alternative to its second consecutive championship.
A senior, Huish finished 10-0 with an 0.31 earned-run average. She struck out 144 in 68 innings.
