Transamerica Life Chooses Kansas City: Transamerica Life Cos. said it has selected the Kansas City area for the previously announced relocation of its life insurance division’s administrative offices. About 650 people at Transamerica Life’s Los Angeles headquarters are affected by the move. All who are willing to move are being offered jobs in Kansas City. Another 2,000 employees will remain in Los Angeles. The company said a key factor in choosing Kansas City--besides lower costs of doing business--was that it was in the Central Time Zone.
