Fullerton Marriott Appoints General Manager

Gerry Lopez has been appointed general manager for the Fullerton Marriott. He was formerly resident manager for the Anaheim Marriott. Lopez, who joined Marriott in 1974, has also been director of human resources at the Anaheim hotel and director of food and beverage at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Tennis Club.

* Frank Jackson has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of Compounding Technology Inc. in Corona, a wholly owned subsidiary of Costa Mesa-based Cimco Inc. He joined the company in 1980 as general manager and was appointed executive vice president in 1988. In addition, Russell T. Gilbert, president and chief executive of Cimco, was selected for the newly created position of chairman of Compounding Technology, which formulates and compounds thermoplastic materials.

* Richard J. Grant has been appointed business development officer for Heller First Capital Corp. in the Southern California regional office in Newport Beach. Grant, who has been with Heller for three years, was formerly a loan officer and business development officer in the San Francisco office. In addition, Richard W. Lantz has been appointed loan officer. He has more than 20 years of commercial banking experience in the Orange County area with California First Bank and Bank of Newport.

* Russell W. Landreth has been appointed president and chief executive of Bromar Southern California in Orange. He succeeds Chuck McGibbon, who has left the company. Before his appointment, Landreth was executive vice president and chief operating officer. Succeeding him in that position is James L. Layne, who had been executive vice president-grocery. Bromar Southern California is a division of Bromar Inc., a food brokerage.

* Gary Amstutz has joined State of the Art Inc., an Irvine accounting software developer, as senior manager of Apple technologies. Previously, he was the senior Macintosh software developer for Maxa Corp. David Ries has been appointed director of Apple business development. He was formerly general manager for the company’s Start Accounting division; James M. Hennings has been appointed vice president and general manager of that division. Before his appointment, Hennings was vice president of marketing for State of the Art.

* Ken W. Noden has been appointed a director for the British American Chamber of Commerce in Orange County. Noden is chief executive of MellenAir Manufacturing Inc. He is also the founder of Atlantic Associates Inc., an organization involved in helping U.S. companies trade with Europe.

* Peter A. Toughill has joined the office properties division of Grubb & Ellis Commercial Real Estate Services’ Newport Beach office as a senior vice president. He was formerly district manager of Grubb & Ellis’ Seattle office.
