2 Men Handcuff, Rob Dana Point Woman of $600
DANA POINT — A 65-year-old woman was bound and robbed of $600 by two men with guns who forced their way into her house and ransacked it, sheriff’s officials said Friday.
The woman, whose name was not released, was in fear for her life and waited nine hours to report the Thursday morning robbery, Sheriff’s Lt. Dick Olson said.
She told authorities that a man holding a potted plant walked up to her door in the 33800 block of Cape Cove at 11:15 a.m. When she opened the door, she said, the man pushed her back into the house and a second man followed him inside.
The pair threatened her with a handgun, then bound her hands with the type of plastic restraints used by police.
The men went through the woman’s house, then left with $600 in cash. They ripped out her telephone line and told her not to call police, Olson said.
The woman freed herself by cutting the restraints with scissors.
