Party Will Highlight City’s 36th Birthday
FOUNTAIN VALLEY — An old-fashioned ice cream social at Heritage Park will highlight today’s celebration of the city’s 36th birthday.
Residents are invited to attend the party, which will also include hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato salad and cake. Tickets will be sold for the food. Lemonade and coffee will be free.
The event, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., is being put on by the Fountain Valley Historical Society. It will include a ceremony at 11 a.m. by Girl Scout Troop 197.
Heritage Park, site of the city’s historical buildings, is at 17641 Los Alamos St., west of the library and behind the Civic Center.
