Countywide : Veterans’ Group Plans Navy Reunion

A Southern California veterans’ association will hold a reunion next month in Las Vegas for Navy personnel who have served on any of the three warships named USS Helena.
The reunion will be July 18 to 21 at the Stardust Resort, said Bill Bunker, spokesman for the USS Helena Organization.
The reunion marks the 50th anniversary of the World War II Battle of Kula Gulf in which the light cruiser USS Helena was sunk.
