BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Twins’ Hrbek Is Disabled
The Minnesota Twins put first baseman Kent Hrbek on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 8. Hrbek, the club leader with nine home runs, strained a muscle in his right side about a week ago, then aggravated the injury while swinging a bat Monday.

A group of Cincinnati investors has agreed to pay $141.3 million for the Baltimore Orioles--a record for a baseball team--in a proposed deal expected to be filed today in federal court. . . . Oakland slugger Mark McGwire may be out for another three weeks with a heel injury. McGwire, who went on the disabled list May 14, had a cast removed from his left foot, but his bruised heel showed little improvement. . . . Philadelphia Phillie reliever Jose DeLeon was arrested at Shea Stadium before his team’s game with the Mets on an outstanding arrest warrant involving palimony.
