LONG BEACH : Lifeguard Captain Held in Woman’s Murder
A lifeguard captain in Long Beach was arrested on suspicion of murder after he called sheriff’s deputies to report that a woman had been shot to death in East Long Beach, the Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.
Investigators said Susan P. Heimos, 44, an administrative officer in the Long Beach library system, was slain in her home in the 3200 block of Senasac Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Randall P. Davis, 42, was taken into custody a short time later at the home of a relative.
Details were few and investigators declined to reveal any apparent motive. They said Heimos and Davis had previously worked together for the Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine Department.
