Duarte : Nurses May Strike Tuesday
Nurses at the City of Hope have notified administrators that they will strike Tuesday if contract negotiations fail.
The medical center’s 430 registered nurses, represented by the California Nurses Assn., are wrangling with hospital administrators over possible changes in job duties and proposed vacation reductions.
The nurses’ three-year contract expired June 1. A federal mediator has been working with nurse representatives and hospital officials to negotiate differences.
Hospital administrators said a strike would not interrupt service.
