Kidnaped Boy Found in Iowa; Man Held
An 11-year-old El Monte boy who had been abducted from his home earlier this week has been found unharmed in Iowa, begging for gas money at a truck stop with three other boys, authorities said Saturday.
The boy, Raymond Lauriana, disappeared Wednesday night. He was found with Javier Fernandez Gonzalez, 23, whom Iowa state police arrested on suspicion of kidnaping.
Gonzalez was arrested after a woman told authorities that he and four boys--including Raymond--looked suspicious, El Monte Police Lt. Craig Sperry said. The other boys--ages 11, 12 and 13--had been kidnaped in Tijuana.
Gonzalez was driving a car that had been reported stolen Thursday in Ontario.
Raymond is expected to be flown home to his parents today.
