Rogers Finishes Third in Cycling Competition
Thurlow Rogers of Van Nuys placed third Sunday in the 45-mile pro-am event of the Holy Cross Grand Prix Criterium at the Warner Center in Woodland Hills.
Rogers, a former Olympian and a member of the Miller Lite Cycling Team, was part of an eight-man breakaway in the 100-rider field. Rogers finished second in the event last year.
Saturday, Rogers won the master’s division of the Corona Circuit Race and was second in the pro-am event. Teammate John Wordin of West Hills was eighth in the master’s race.
The two are scheduled to race in the San Luis Obispo Criterium on Sunday.
