Big Crimes, Little Crimes: All Are Wrong
When I started reading “America’s Least Wanted Criminals” (May 10) by Craig Tomashoff, I shouted, “It’s about time!” But when I finished the article, I was very upset. Tomashoff makes it seem as if it is OK to break all these little rules--as a matter of fact, quite natural and full of thrills.
Breaking a little law is just as wrong as breaking a big law; stealing a small item or a large item is still stealing. Justifying a theft on the basis that the owner is rich and I’m poor is lousy thinking.
In my opinion, one of the main reasons our country is in such a mess is the total lack of respect for authority. Many children have little respect for their parents, their teachers, the police, their bosses and ultimately society.
