BASEBALL : Hollywood Upsets Roosevelt in 15-Inning Marathon
Hollywood’s Carlos Montes doubled home Carlos Garcia in the bottom of the 15th inning Thursday to lift fourth-seeded Hollywood to a 6-5 win over Roosevelt in a City Section 3-A Division game at Hollywood.
Left fielder Francisco Perez singled in Damian Rennolds in the bottom of the seventh to tie the score at 2-2.
Roosevelt came back to take a 5-2 lead in the top of the eighth, as Chris Minter hit a two-run triple but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a home run.
Nelson Abrego came home on Rennolds’ triple to tie the score at 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth.
