Lincoln 15, Washington 5--The Tigers overcame a 5-0 deficit and in the process avenged a three-year losing streak to the Generals at Rose Hills Park. The teams have met for four consecutive seasons in the first round, with Lincoln on the short end of the score until Tuesday.

Lincoln, capitalizing on four errors on five walks, sent 14 batters to the plate during a nine-run sixth inning to extend a 6-5 lead. Two runs were forced home on bases-loaded walks and John Carbajal drove two in on a bases-loaded single. The Tigers’ first seven batters scored before Washington recorded the first out.

Carbajal and Lincoln reliever Peter Cervantes each had three hits and scored two runs. Cervantes, who earned the victory, cut the deficit to 5-4 on a two-run home run in the third.
