DIVISION III SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS
In other Division III quarterfinals:
Laguna Hills 3, Riverside Arlington 0--Windy Scofield pitched a two-hitter for host Laguna Hills (22-5), which scored three second-inning runs on two hits, a hit batsmen, and an error. Laguna Hills, which left 10 runners on base, will play San Dimas in the semifinals. Arlington ends 21-6.
San Dimas 1, Woodbridge 0--The visiting Warriors had runners in scoring position five of the seven innings, but were unable to come up with the key hits to advance.
Freshman Corey Washington (18-5) gave up only two hits and one unearned run, allowing only four base runners. San Dimas scored the game’s only run on shortstop’s Debbie Nasitka’s error in the second inning.
The Warriors’ best chance to score was in the third, but Alison Johnsen was thrown out at the plate. Johnsen had two hits and three stolen bases for the Warriors (25-6). Brandi Isgar had 12 strikeouts for San Dimas (19-7).
