Koll Co. Extends Reach Into Mexico With Industrial Park
NEWPORT BEACH — In another extension of its reach into Mexico, the Koll Co. said Thursday that two of its operating units have entered a development pact with Grupo Garza Ponce, a major landowner, developer and contractor with headquarters in Monterrey, Mexico.
The Koll units are Koll International-Commercial in Newport Beach and Koll Co.’s Southwest division, based in Dallas.
The agreement calls for Koll, a major commercial developer and property management company, to work with Grupo Garza Ponce to develop industrial properties in the Mexican landowner’s 350-acre Monterrey Industrial Park and other properties in northeast Mexico. The companies have already begun work on a 250,000-square-foot facility.
James Watson, president of Koll International-Commercial, said the Monterrey area is one of the most desirable locations for foreign companies opening manufacturing facilities in Mexico.
Koll Co., based in Newport Beach, is developing several resort properties in Baja California and recently formed a real estate service unit, Koll Cushman Realty Mexico, to work with companies moving into Mexico or expanding their facilities there.
