UC Irvine Signs Two Basketball Players
IRVINE — The UC Irvine women’s basketball team has signed two Southern California prep standouts to letters of intent, the university announced Wednesday.
--Nyambo Anuluoha of Playa del Rey St. Bernard, a 5-foot-11 forward, averaged 6.7 points and 5.6 rebounds and helped her team to the State Division IV title.
--Michele Smith of Long Beach Poly, a 5-7 guard, was the Moore League’s most valuable player. She averaged 14.6 points and 12 rebounds and is the school’s career point leader.
