Federal agents are investigating whether players from 12 NFL and NBA teams were involved in cellular telephone fraud, a newspaper reported.
Secret Service agents have seized more than a dozen telephones altered to steal cellular service, sources told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Sources said the phones were taken from current or former players for the NFL’s Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers as well as the NBA’s Clippers, Seattle SuperSonics, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs.
