RETURN TRIP: Latinos looking for a better life have streamed into the Midwest (A5), including hundreds from Oxnard . . . Two years ago, the IBP meatpacking firm used free training and steady work to lure more than 200 workers from Oxnard to a slaughterhouse in Nebraska. But several returned, said Maureen Monteith of the California employment office. Culture and language differences were a factor, she said. Also: “The climate was just not what they wanted.”
