Swiss Firm Sues Douglas: ADO Finance, a Swiss financing company, has alleged in a federal civil suit that McDonnell Douglas misrepresented the performance of its MD-11 jetliners. The firm also alleged that McDonnell fraudulently confiscated about $18 million in deposits after ADO demanded to cancel orders for six of the aircraft and options for four more. The aircraft were intended to be used by Aero Loyld, a European charter operator, but ADO claims that the MD-11s were not capable of meeting a contractual requirement to fly from Frankfurt to Tokyo and other destinations with a full load of passengers and baggage. A McDonnell Douglas spokesman declined to comment.
