10 Ex-Eastern Pilots Sue Union: Former Eastern Airline pilots said they are suing their union for $500 million in a fraud lawsuit that charges the labor organization with violating federal law. A group calling itself the Eastern Pilots for Fairness said 650 pilots are party to the suit against the Air Line Pilots Assn. and union officers for collecting money from members for promises of “job and pension protection.” The pilots group said the union favored the rights of pilots at larger airlines over pilots at troubled airlines.
