HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Richardson’s No-Hitter Lifts Camarillo, 3-1

Laura Richardson pitched a no-hitter, struck out seven and walked three to lead Camarillo High to a 3-1 victory over San Marcos in a second-round game of the Southern Section Division I softball playoffs Tuesday at San Marcos.
Camarillo (22-6) snapped a 1-1 tie in the sixth when Kelly Rutschman’s two-out single drove home Janelle Schuh and Robin Degner.
In other Southern Section second-round softball playoff games:
La Reina 8, L.A. Baptist 0--Jennifer Baltruzak pitched her second no-hitter, and Sarah Heiler and Kelly Osborne each had four hits for La Reina in the Division V game. Baltruzak (15-0-1), a freshman, struck out six and walked one.
Alemany 5, Quartz Hill 4--Carrie Edemann and Tanya Ortiz each had two hits and two RBIs for Alemany in the Division III game at Quartz Hill. Alemany pitcher Sophie Contreraz (20-2) gave up seven hits in the first 2 1/3 innings before retiring the last 14 batters.
The win was the 200th of Alemany Coach Dudley Rooney’s career. Quartz Hill finished 19-6.
L.A. Lutheran 15, Antelope Valley Christian 3--Deonna Olson pitched a five-hitter, and had four hits for L.A. Lutheran in a Division VI game at Antelope Valley Christian.
BOYS’ TENNIS
Quartz Hill 12, Cate 6--Defending champion Quartz Hill (20-1) won four of five tiebreaker sets to advance to the Division III semifinals for the third consecutive year. Kenny Park, at No. 1 singles, swept three matches. The No. 1 doubles team of Charlie Stoll and Richard Harper also swept.
Nordhoff 16, Covina 2--The Rangers (19-3) dominated the Colts (14-10) in a Division IV quarterfinal match at the Ojai Valley Racquet Club.
