IRVINE : 107 College Students Win Scholarships
More than $40,000 in scholarship money was distributed this month to 107 Irvine Valley College students.
The money was raised through donations from students as well as faculty and staff members.
Donations were also received from private companies and individuals in the community.
Students were awarded the scholarships based on their academic performance and financial need.
Some recipients will use the money to pay for Irvine Valley College classes, while others plan to save the money and use it when they transfer to a four-year university, college spokesman George McCrory said.
