Hadley Returning to Orange High as Wrestling Coach

Larry Hadley, who graduated from Orange High in 1985, will return as varsity wrestling coach, Athletic Director Dave Zirkle said Thursday.
Hadley replaces Tim Scalzo, who served for one season in a walk-on capacity. Scalzo left to pursue a head football coaching position.
Hadley, 25, graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He will be completing his student teaching at Orange this fall through Chapman University.
Hadley, who will also be an assistant coach on the varsity football team, spent four years as assistant to wrestling Coach Alan Clinton at El Modena. The Vanguards were runners-up for the Division I dual-meet championship last season.
“Larry is one of seven Orange graduates who have returned to the school as head coaches,” Zirkle said. “He has a lot of enthusiasm, and hopefully he’ll bring what (success) Clinton has had at El Modena back to Orange.”
