LOS ANGELES : Deputy Charged With Taking Drugs to Jail
Felony drug charges were filed Thursday against a sheriff’s deputy accused of taking narcotics into the Men’s Central Jail at the request of inmates.
Deputy Alfred Saenz, 23, was arrested at the jail Tuesday night on one count each of sale or transportation of heroin, cocaine and marijuana. He also is charged with one count of taking drugs into a jail. Saenz was arrested six days after he allegedly obtained drugs from an undercover sheriff’s deputy and took them into the jail, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Alan Yochelson.
If convicted, Saenz faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.
