Neil McCarthy Quits as Exec VP at Capitol EMI Music
The executive suite is starting to take on a new look at Capitol Records.
Capitol on Thursday confirmed that Neil McCarthy, the executive vice president who oversaw business and financial affairs at the company, resigned.
Officials with Capitol and its parent, EMI, declined to comment on McCarthy’s resignation, and McCarthy could not be reached. He joined Capitol EMI Music in June, 1991, moving into his latest post in February.
McCarthy’s departure is expected to be one of several major executive changes for Capitol. Earlier this week, Gary Gersh resigned as a senior executive at Geffen and DGC Records.
Gersh is expected to be named Capitol’s president soon as part of a reorganization by Charles Koppelman, North American chairman of EMI Records Group.
