Frida and Frida: Production on “The Two Fridas,” Luis Valdez’s film about acclaimed Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and her husband, artist Diego Rivera, will begin in September. The project is the revised version of “Frida and Diego,” which Valdez had intended to direct last summer until financing was withdrawn. The casting is not yet set, but Laura San Giacomo and Mexican actress Ofelia Medina are being considered to play the two Fridas. Raul Julia has expressed interest in the role of Rivera.
