Decco Malfunction Means More Winners
SACRAMENTO — A malfunction Thursday in the Decco machine means more players will probably win prizes, lottery officials said Friday.
Players with tickets for the Thursday drawing will win if they have either the six or 10 of hearts, the ace of clubs, king of diamonds and three of spades, lottery officials said.
The problem occurred in the hearts portion of the Decco machine. The machine first selected the 10 of hearts but lottery officials discovered that one of the 13 balls did not fall from the release tube into the mixing chamber, invalidating the drawing.
Lottery officials conducted a second drawing and a six of hearts was selected.
“When I was called about the problem, I said we would pay on both sets of numbers,†Lottery Director Sharon Sharp said.
Decco prizes range from a free replay for matching one card to $5,000 for matching four.
