At the award ceremony last month at the Art Store in Newport Beach, Kristi Sutton of El Toro High was named photographer of merit, with Christopher Tran of Garden Grove High School winning best of show.
Tran took first place in the people category, and Sutton placed second and third in two of the four categories she entered.
Other first-place winners were Michael E. Tortorice of Woodbridge High in Irvine, in the landscape category; Nathan Wylie of Costa Mesa High, in the animals category; Toshi Matsuta of Woodbridge High, in the abstract category; and Kenny Eidsvold of El Modena High, for best experimental process.
Entries were exhibited at the Newport Harbor Art Museum and Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.
