Ward Valley Nuclear Dump

Your article (April 27) on the Ward Valley Nuclear Dump identifies some of the questions that many concerned citizens want answered about the burial of nuclear waste in unlined trenches on the desert.
The selected contractor, U.S. Ecology (what a misnomer), knows this risky project cannot stand the scrutiny of an adjudicatory hearing, promised by Gov. “Plutonium-Pete” Wilson, and has the audacity to sue the people of California to block such an investigation.
Even the possibility of a contaminated Colorado River is a sad legacy for future generations of Californians and our neighbors to the south.
