CANOGA PARK : Paperwork Delays Police Substation
Los Angeles police have delayed opening a new substation at the Canoga Park Community Center for several weeks, police said. The new substation is being delayed because of a glitch in the paperwork for the new station’s approval, said Capt. Val Paniccia, who oversees police patrol for the West Valley Division.
“We overlooked something in our application,” Paniccia said. “We neglected to put a page of information. We have every reason to believe that it will be approved shortly.”
The new substation at 7248 Owensmouth was to open Wednesday. When opened, it will be staffed by volunteers and police officers. The new substation will be in addition to West Valley substations in the Topanga Mall and the Promenade mall.
