Democrats to Aid Woo’s Campaign
The California Democratic Party announced Tuesday it will spend $200,000 on an independent campaign to elect Michael Woo mayor of Los Angeles.
“We’re going to spend $200,000 of Democratic Party resources on a major get-out-the-vote effort,” said party Chairman Bill Press.
Press said Democratic voters in the city will be contacted by phone, by mail or in person.
City Ethics Commission officials have said they will closely monitor the Democratic effort, which falls outside the city’s strict campaign finance laws.
