Countywide : Lung Group to Hold Clean Air Festival
The American Lung Assn. of Ventura County is sponsoring a Clean Air Festival on Sunday at Oxnard State Beach.
The event, which begins Clean Air Week, will feature speakers and displays on air pollution and its damaging effect on lung health, organizers said.
“The association’s goal is to empower each person to take personal responsibility for reducing the level of air pollution in their home and community,†said Dr. Steven Nagelberg, president of the Ventura County chapter of the American Lung Assn.
The event begins at 11 a.m. and will include speeches by actor Ed Begley Jr., Ventura County Supervisor Susan K. Lacey, Richard Baldwin of the county Air Pollution Control District and others.
The festival also will include displays of clean-fuel vehicles, a kite-decorating contest, bicycle safety inspections and other events.
