Accounting Changes Boost Day Runner
Day Runner Inc., the Fullerton manufacturer of personal organizers, reported a profit of $765,000, or 13 cents a share, which included a onetime gain of $350,000 from an accounting change. That compared to a profit of $441,000, or 8 cents a share, for the first quarter of 1992. Sales dropped 3%, to $14 million from $14.5 million.
