Vigilant won three events as she helped Wilson defeat Long Beach rival and defending state champion Poly High, 61-57, in a Moore League track meet. She had a time of 15.6 seconds in the 110-meter high hurdles and ran the 330-meter low hurdles in 45 seconds. She also won the triple jump with a leap of 38 feet 3 3/4 inches.
Other top prep performers:
Monet Moore, a pitcher for Whitney High of Cerritos, struck out 10 batters as she led the Wildcats to a 17-0 win over Buckley High of Sherman Oaks. Moore was also 2 for 4 as a hitter, with 3 RBIs.
Elizabeth Sanches, a freshman pitcher for Lakewood High, threw a no-hitter as the Lancers defeated Compton High, 20-0. Sanches struck out 11 batters and drove in five runs.
