Boeing Lays Off Another 641 Workers: The Seattle-based aerospace manufacturer has given layoff notices to another 641 Seattle-area workers, bringing to about 3,000 the number of jobs it has cut from its local work force since the beginning of the year. The Boeing Co. also gave pink slips Friday to 66 workers in Portland, according to company spokesman Patrick Palmer. The layoffs are the latest in a series of cutbacks intended to reduce the company’s work force by 15,000 people this year.
