SPORTSCOPE : WBA Junior Lightweight Champion to Defend Title Monday Night at Forum

Genaro Hernandez, the World Boxing Assn. junior lightweight champion, will make his fourth title defense against Raul Perez in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds on Monday night at the Forum.
Hernandez is 27-0 with 13 knockouts and Perez is 50-3-2 with 32 KOs.
Ariel Chavez (15-0, eight KOs) is scheduled to fight Wilfredo Rivera (15-0-1, nine KOs) in a welterweight bout.
Preliminaries will open the program at 7:30.
Mira Costa High’s varsity-alumni baseball game is scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 1 at the school.
Former Mustangs players are encouraged to compete.
