LOS ANGELES — Stephane Desjardins, John Rayfield and Mike Pearce were the Bullfrogs’ top selections as Roller Hockey International conducted its inaugural draft Saturday at the Sheraton Los Angeles Airport Hotel.
Desjardins was the team’s first choice in the territorial phase, Rayfield the top preferential selection and Pearce the initial pick in the open phase.
The team’s most prominent selection was Jim Fox, a former King and now the analyst on the NHL team’s Prime Ticket telecasts.
Of the more than 50 players selected by the Bullfrogs, few figure to be on the roster July 2 when they play the Utah Rollerbees at the Anaheim Arena in their season opener. When the season opens, the rosters will be pared down to a 12-player active squad and a three-player developmental squad.
