TV AS TEACHER

I would not celebrate if my child went from television screen to computer screen. Both screens tend to draw one away from interacting with the outside world.

Children should be making up their own imaginary games, creating their own characters and developing their own plots without the aid of a computer. To develop the imagination and actually have the opportunity to use it throughout life is so important, yet so difficult. On the other hand, computer skills are easily learned and should not be pushed upon children at too early an age. If children today get too comfortable with computers, they will never in the future question the computer’s place in society.
