2 1/2-Year-Old Boy, Man Shot at Balboa Park
Two people, including a 2 1/2-year-old boy who was not expected to survive, were injured Sunday in a shooting stemming from an argument between two groups of people in Encino, Los Angeles police said.
The incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. in Balboa Park, Sgt. Timothy Moss said. The cause of the argument was unclear, although the shooting may have been a gang-related incident, Moss said.
The boy was reportedly shot in the head and was in critical condition, Moss said. A man was also seriously injured with a gunshot wound in the stomach.
Detectives detained several people for questioning Sunday night, Moss said.
