NORTH HILLS : Man Shot to Death in Drive-By Attack
An 18-year-old North Hills man died early Tuesday in a drive-by shooting that Los Angeles police said could be gang-related.
Victor Rojas, also known as Santiago Pena Ruiz, was in front of an apartment building in the 9200 block of Nordhoff Street about 2:35 a.m. when he was shot by someone in a passing car, Detective Tom Broad said. Rojas died at the scene.
The area is well-known for gang and drug activity, but detectives did not know if Rojas was a gang member. “It looks like it’s gang-related. It could be drug-related, or it could be both,” Broad said. No arrests have been made.
