Falling Down: Declaring that power in Hollywood has “shifted from sellers to the few remaining big-time buyers,” Premiere magazine has toppled superagent Michael Ovitz from his perch at the apex of Hollywood powerdom. After heading the magazine’s list of the industry’s 100 most powerful for all three previous years of its existence, Creative Artists Agency Chairman Ovitz has slipped to No. 3. Taking his place as No. 1 are veteran studio executives Bob Daly and Terry Semel, chairman and president, respectively, of Warner Bros., distributors of this year’s Oscar winner for best picture, “Unforgiven.” Walt Disney Co. Chairman Michael Eisner retains his slot at No. 2. And how is Ovitz reacting to the demotion? “He feels exactly the same way about the list this year as he did last year. It’s an interesting exercise,” said CAA spokesman Anna Perez.
