Other Views on Greener Pastures
I believe the good people that wrote letters responding to the Times article “California, Here I Go” (Feb. 21) missed the point.
First, I’d be willing to bet, that like myself, this is just the kind of article that thousands of people enjoy reading, regardless whether or not they are considering an exodus from the Golden State. We’re all curious what life is like on the other side of the fence (and how much it costs!).
To Marvin E. Smith in particular, what difference does it make if a report such as this is in “glorious four-color photographs”? Embellishment isn’t the private domain of the real estate biz.
And believe it or not, freedom of speech still exists; advertisers do not dictate newspaper copy.
