Nebraska, New York Win Disaster Status

WASHINGTON — President Clinton has declared major disasters situations in New York and Nebraska that makes the states eligible for federal financial assistance.
The New York declaration stems from the World Trade Center bombing and allows local agencies to be reimbursed for some of the emergency protective measures taken in the aftermath of the Feb. 26 bombing.
In Nebraska, 11 counties will be eligible for assistance related to severe March flooding.
