Fox Expansion Gains Support: In a rare show of unity, Gov. Pete Wilson, state Senate President Pro Tem David A. Roberti and Assembly Speaker Willie Brown have signed a letter supporting the proposed expansion of Fox Studios in West Los Angeles. The letter, sent to Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley and the city’s planning commission, says the Fox expansion will ensure that 2,000 jobs remain in recession-plagued Los Angeles, and that another 2,000 are created. Opponents say the expansion of the company, which includes 20th Century Fox, will worsen traffic and pollution. A city hearing on the proposal is scheduled for today.
