Mater Dei Routs Capistrano Valley

MISSION VIEJO — The Mater Dei girls’ swimming team used its depth to rout Capistrano Valley, 106-64, in a South Coast League meet Thursday at Capistrano Valley.
Freshman Andrea Buhagier won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.18 for the Monarchs in their first South Coast League dual meet.
Kim Davis of Capistrano Valley was the only double winner, taking the 50 freestyle in 25.91 and the 100 back in 1:03.81, which qualifies her for the Southern Section meet in the event.
