Texaco Clean-Air Diesel OKd by ARB: The state Air Resources Board has approved Texaco Inc.’s formula for making diesel clean enough to meet air-emissions standards required of all California refiners by October. Texaco was able to rework its diesel at about half the added cost the ARB had expected. Chevron Corp. developed the first innovative clean-diesel formulation, which also came in at half the estimated cost increase. Chevron received ARB approval for its new diesel in June, 1992.
