L.A. MARATHON / DAILY REPORT : For This Runner, 26.2-Mile Course Will Look Familiar From the Start

Jerry Dunn of Indianapolis, who plans to run 93 marathons in 1993, will run the Los Angeles Marathon course twice this weekend.
After running the 26.2-mile course for fun on Saturday, Dunn will run it for real in Sunday’s race.
Channel 13 will televise the race live, with coverage starting at 8 a.m. Superstation WWOR will carry KCOP’s feed nationally. KABC (790) will broadcast the race live on radio.
Race organizers will use electronically powered vehicles for the pace car and press bus instead of gasoline-powered vehicles.
Runners had complained about having to breathe exhaust fumes generated by the gasoline-powered vehicles. Electric-powered vehicles were used in the 1992 Olympic Marathon and are used in the New York Marathon.
